Tanya Scott
Hi! I am a certified Classical Pilates Instructor and have been running my practice in an Outdoor Pilates Studio Oasis in Santa Monica. I received my first certification in Pilates 7 years ago, and my completion of additional certifications is ongoing. I guide clients of all levels to learn to move their bodies from their core muscles through the Pilates Method.
I started doing Pilates to relieve my own scoliosis-related (curvature of the spine) lower and upper back pain. When I began to move my body on the Reformer, the Mat and all the other Pilates equipment and apparatus, I fell in love with it! I could not wait to share what I felt with the rest of the world! My practice began at the Classic Pilates Body studio in Santa Monica, and my journey continues at my outdoor home studio where I offer private sessions.
I work with clientele of all levels and ages, and I am trained to help with specific conditions and injuries. Every body is unique, and my goal is to help you move with strength, reduce stress, and ultimately center and align your body, mind, and spirit — to connect to your body. With consistent weekly practice, you will feel empowered and strong enough to accomplish many tasks, big and small, in your daily life.
I am intuitive and knowledgable and will teach you how to move independently and efficiently. I am passionate about Pilates and your body movement, and will guide you through the Pilates technique as you learn self-care. With positivity and encouragement, you will build your core strength, find flexibility, and have fun while moving your body in a comfortable, private outdoor studio. Movement is healing and, to put it simply, Pilates will help you feel better. Pilates is a lifestyle and it is never too late to start!
